Sunderland Transfer News: Emanuele Giaccherini Pushes Through Black Cats Move

emanuele giaccherini Emanuele Giaccherini is forcing through his move to Sunderland, according to Sky Sports. The Italian winger has been used as a mere squad player for Juventus in the past season and the player wishes to move to the Stadium of Light to help retain his place in the Italy squad ahead of next summer's World Cup. The Juventus CEO, Giuseppe Marotta, has said in a recent press conference,
"In Giaccherini's transfer to Sunderland, the will of the player had priority over the club's. "Emanuele evaluated, not only the economic aspects but also the standing he will have at Sunderland, and it was a challenge he decided to accept. We have gone along with his wishes.
The 28-year-old only made 17 appearances for the Serie A champions last season and it has now been confirmed that the player will make the move to Wearside after the Turin club, reluctantly, agreed to sell the player to Sunderland. The Juventus head coach, Antonio Conte, had this to say on the news'
€œFor Juventus, it is necessary to sell at this moment. He will do well at Sunderland.€ €œI€™m happy for Giaccherini because Sunderland is a good chance for him, but I€™m sad to lose him.€ €œIf you ask me if I€™m happy, the answer is no,€ the former Siena coach continued."
Giaccherini has played 14 times for the Italian national side, scoring two goals. He started his career as a youth player for Cesena.
