4. Keep Giroud Out Of It
He might have started almost comically slowly in Arsenal's colours, but Olivier Giroud is in form at the minute, and his confidence is sky high, as evidenced by his eye-catching claim that he's started his Arsenal career better than Robin van Persie started his. The confidence will no doubt appeal to Arsenal fans, especially those brought up with the arrogance of Ian Wright and Thierry Henry, but he has to really come up with the goods to justify that claim. His current record of 14 goals and 11 assists is a great start, there's no denying it, but Giroud should be careful not to get too cocky and the best way Sunderland can assure that he stays quiet is to stifle his confidence by marking him out of the game. The return of Carlos Cuellar might offer the physical answer the Black Cats will need to handle Giroud strongly enough to keep him quiet as well. Luckily for Sunderland, his arrogance might get in the way of industry today and Giroud might end up undoing all of his own good work recently.
