Swansea Transfer News: Liverpool's Jonjo Shelvey To Sign For £6 Million

BBC. The 21-year-old, who made his England debut against San Marino last October, is expected at the Liberty Stadium to agree personal terms. Crystal Palace were also chasing the youngster's signature, but were outbid by the Welsh outfit. Shelvey has struggled for first-team appearances at Anfield of late, and the former Arsenal man has only made 17 league starts since moving from Charlton Athletic in 2010. The youngster began his career at the Emirates in 2002 as a youth team player, and also had a stint at West Ham United. He later joined Charlton's academy and broke into their senior side in 2008, making 42 appearances. He joined Liverpool two years later and was loaned to Blackpool. Another Swansea target is FC Twente's Belgian international winger Nacer Chadli. The 23-year-old's agent Daniel Evrard claims the League Cup winners have made a bid for his client. The Swans are also in the running to sign the prolific Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony, who was the top scorer in the Netherlands last season, along with France striker Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon. Meanwhile, Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has returned to the Liberty Stadium on a second season-long loan from Spanish outfit Villarreal.
