UFC Makes New Deal With Invicta For UFC Fight Pass

InvictaFC and the UFC have announced a new deal to bring Invicta's content library and PPV shows to UFC Fight Pass. Invicta, the premiere all-female MMA organization, has had a solid working relationship with the UFC over the past few years. It has allowed fighters to make the jump to MMA's main organisation and been a solid base for women establishing their name. UFC brought in their own women's bantamweight division following their acquisition of Strikeforce and reigning champ Ronda Rousey in 2011. More recently, the bulk of Invicta's strawweight division was acquired by the UFC, and will appear on an upcoming season of the Ultimate Fighter. In other words, this is a deal that makes a lot of sense as both parties continue their relationship. The UFC gets additional library content for Fight Pass, which already includes Strikeforce, Pride, WEC and others in addition to the UFC's own library. Invicta meanwhile gets increased exposure as Fight Pass becomes the exclusive digital provider for future Invicta events (this would also leave the door open for Invicta to continue offering PPVs via traditional cable providers). UFC Fight Pass chief content officer had this to say in the official press release: €œThis is a historic multi-year, multi-event deal. When we launched UFC FIGHT PASS last Christmas, we said that we would never rest in bringing the best value to our subscribers. The addition of live and archived Invicta programming is going to be of enormous interest to our existing subscribers and bring in new subscribers, too.€ Added Invicta president Shannon Knapp: €œThis is a great day for my company. Since the start of Invicta, I€™ve been committed to providing the biggest and best possible platform for women athletes and, with this distribution deal with UFC FIGHT PASS, Invicta will reach the most passionate MMA fans, wherever they are in the world.€ Knapp, meanwhile, added that the company is targeting a late-summer event with a world title fight to be the first Invicta FC event aired on Fight Pass.
