Vincent Kompany Hopes Former Chelsea Midfielder Will Join Man City

City skipper believes Kevin De Bruyne is 'a phenomenal talent' ...

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has declared he would be "one of the happiest guys on the team" if Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne signs for the sky blues this summer. "Kevin is a phenomenal talent. He€™s a game-changer, he€™s efficient in front of goal but he€™s also a great passer, which is probably his biggest quality," Kompany explained in an interview with Goal.com. "I try not to influence too much but I do recognise the fact that he€™s an unbelievable talent and any team he goes to, he will make that team stronger," the powerful centre-back added. De Bruyne, who joined Wolfsburg 18 months ago after a lack of playing time at Chelsea, enjoyed an incredible season in Germany in 2014/15. He ended the campaign as a DFB Pokal winner and had a direct hand in as many as 42 of the team's goal across all competitions. A full Belgian international since 2010, De Bruyne is still only 23 years of age and has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium for the last few weeks. Just over a week ago he admitted that 'informal contact' with City has indeed taken place, although at this stage it doesn't count for much. At that time, the player also said that he will sit down and discuss his future with Wolfsburg after going on holiday. If City are to go ahead and make a formal approach, it is likely they will have to offer something in the region of £40 million.
