West Brom Transfers: Baggies Sell Flop Brown Ideye Plus 2 More

Pulis takes a massive hit on Nigerian disaster.

When West Brom signed Nigerian Brown Ideye in the summer, he was heralded as the man to fire the Baggies up the league under Alan Irvine. Sadly that simply did not materialise for either party, Irvine was sacked with the club perched precariously near the relegation zone and Ideye now looks to be on his way out just six months after he was signed. Having cost a massive £10m this summer, Ideye is now on the verge of signing for Qatar club Al Gharafa in a deal worth only £3.8m. He has scored just twice in 17 league appearances, and it seems the club simply want rid of him no matter what. Tony Pulis has apparently lined up a cheap, short-term replacement with both Carlton Cole and Rickie Lambert targeted according to the Daily Mail. If either can fire in the goals to keep the club in the Premier League they would justify the decision to break the club's normal transfer policy. Clearly keeping Ideye is not going to be the answer to their need for goals. The club are also moving Georgios Samaras to Saudi club Al-Hilal on loan initially, and Graham Dorrans is having a medical at Norwich ahead of a £4m move. The club will look to reinvest immediately with Pulis looking to complete deals for Darren Fletcher and Etienne Capoue. Are you happy to see the back of Brown Ideye?
