Is one of West Ham’s most celebrated youth products about to return to Upton Park? He might just be, according to Lee Clayton, Head Of Sport for the Daily Mail and the MailOnline has reported that Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole may be back at his first club before the Hammers take on Manchester United in the FA Cup on Saturday. Quite what that deal would entail remains to be confirmed, but Sky Sports have also reported that the Hammers “have made an enquiry with Liverpool over bringing midfielder Joe Cole to Upton Park.” The former Chelsea attacking midfielder has been linked with a move away from Anfield recently having only made six Premier League appearances so far this season from the bench. Sky Sports say that Harry Redknapp has already confirmed his interest to take the 31-year-old to QPR, so West Ham boss will likely face a battle for the former England man. Cole began his senior careerat Upton Park in 1998 after a meteoric rise to fame, through the youth ranks in East London. He spent last term in France with Lille, but returned at the end of the year and was given a chance to prove himself, making four starts in cup competitions. But not it seems that Cole might be moving on from Anfield. What do you think Hammer fans – would Cole be a good signing? Share your thoughts below.
