West Ham Transfer News: Kostas Mitroglou Could Chose Hammers Over Fulham?

West Ham have made a late bid for Fulham target Kostas Mitroglou, according to Sky Sports. Fulham reportedly agreed a fee with Olympiakos for the striker, but their London rivals are now dramatically attempting to hijack the move as the transfer window nears its end. The Hammers have been the busiest side in the January window, bringing in six players, and the signing of Mitroglou would be a huge boost as they seek to avoid relegation this season. The Greece international has been in potent form for Olympiakos this season, netting an incredible 17 goals in 19 games. Fulham had been hopeful of landing the 25-year-old this month after agreeing a fee with his club, believed to have been somewhere in the region of £12.5 million. However, they may now be set for a nerve-shredding deadline day battle with West Ham as competition for his signature starts to heat up. The Hammers have struggled in the striking department this season and see Mitroglou as an ideal signing this month. Andy Caroll has been out for much of the season with an ankle injury, leaving Sam Allardyce's side looking short of options in front of goal.
