West Ham vs Chelsea: Player Ratings

Frank Lampard came back to haunt his former club as Chelsea eased to a win over London rivals West Ham United at Upton Park. Oscar also scored as Jose Mourinho's men climbed back up to third and level on points with Liverpool behind Arsenal. The Special One will seldom have an easier game all season as his charges had far too much quality for a Hammers outfit without a fully fit centre forward. Sam Allardyce, more through accident than design, continued to make do and mend without a striker. A so-called 4-6-0 formation worked against Tottenham Hotspur, but has since failed to prove effective with West Ham falling victim to a second half turnaround by Norwich City in their last outing. Chelsea meanwhile were looking to get their Premier League campaign back on track after recent disappointing displays in losing to Newcastle United and salvaging a controversial home draw with West Bromwich Albion. Many would have easily predicted these meeting of the haves versus have nots in the capital, but more importantly who impressed us and why? Here at WhatCulture we have rated both sets of players, and we are pulling no punches in this one. Click next to read more start with the West Ham team.
