UFC star Ronda Rousey is reported to have signed terms with WWE, ahead of a potential starring role at next year's WrestleMania.

Neither party has yet commented on the speculation, but fresh rumours surfacing this weekend have claimed the 30-year-old will shortly begin training at the company's Performance Centre in Orlando.

All of this, so we're told, is to culminate in New Orleans on 8 April, where WWE will host its 34th annual wrestling showpiece in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Few details aside from the above are currently known, although The Mirror is prepared to entertain the possibility of her being involved in WrestleMania's first ever female main event.

That is perhaps a little premature, but self-confessed wrestling fan Rousey comes with ready-made storylines left unresolved from her previous appearances in the squared circle, having come to blows with Stephanie McMahon two years ago.

She was also involved in a backstage confrontation with WWE's "Four Horsewomen" - Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley - after showing up at the Mae Young Classic last month.

Having tasted defeat in her last two UFC outings, MMA pundits have suggested that Rousey may be prepared to call time on her career in the Octagon.
