10 Models Redefining Beauty This Year

Because who is anyone to say what beauty really is?

Beauty is becoming an almost dangerous subject in the modern day. What do we define as beautiful, and why are we all so het up about it all the time? Heaven forbid you put a skinny lady on the advert for a protein shake: people are going to have a melt down. But what if you put a size 20 female in a bikini on a billboard instead? Hell, get ready for some serious fat-shaming, and insults galore. The whole ideal of beauty seems to redefine itself with every social media post; with every vlogger's video about what they think is pretty; with every instagram user who isn't a size 8 and has lots of followers; and with the constant articles and new spreads that dictate what we as a society should be doing to look and feel good. Typing 'beauty' into Google will not bring up vocalized debates over what a certain image should be: oh no, it's way more sneaky than that. Instead, you will be bombarded with hundreds of links to hair products, make-up, spa facilities, ways to make yourself look less tired, hacks to look like you've got the perfect eyebrows, ten ways to make yourself skinny. Hundred and hundreds of web links which are essentially telling you to change yourself in order to feel wonderful. You can pick a handful of people from a crowd on the street who all look completely different; and you can bet each one of them will give you a different opinion on what it truly means to be beautiful. But what about models, who seem to have a bigger insight into the beauty industry? Do they seem to have these broad minded opinions too? No, not always. In fact, their definitions of beauty are completely refreshing. Here are ten models who are making a stand this year in order to prove that actually, beauty can can found outside of the traditional box, and discovered in the most unlikely of places.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
