10 Things That Will Never Happen In The DC Cinematic Universe

Like Green Lantern finding his girlfriend dead in a fridge...

DC and Warner Brothers will soon be ramping up production on Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman (which, by now, should really just be the official title) and have recently announced that Snyder will be following the film with a Justice League title slated for as early as 2017. That film will precede a reported slew of films that will break the DC Cinematic Universe wide open, hopefully giving a select handful of DC Comic heroes their time to shine. While Man of Steel has so far been the only film released as an official part of the shared universe, the multi-movie franchise is already beginning to come into focus - there are at least 10 Things We Expect to Happen in the DC Cinematic Universe, and more casting and script news should become evident as Batman vs. Superman gets underway. But there are certain things that will never find a home on the silver screen, at least not while mega-franchising comic book movies remains a popular fad. Origin stories, major events, entire story arcs and entire characters - whether they're too dark, not dark enough, or just not a good fit for a feature film, these are things you'll be waiting for a long time to see in cinemas. Marvel and Disney continue to capitalize on the success of their film universe, and Sony and Fox are following suit. DC and Warner Brothers have their work cut out for them, but they also have a fine roster of characters and decades of material to draw from. If they get it right, we may be in for a new kind of film franchise - one of a very different variety than Marvel has given us so far. With a slight spoiler warning regarding Man of Steel and a few DC Comics arcs, let's look forward to - or not look forward to, as it were - 10 Things That Will Never Happen in the DC Cinematic Universe...
