10 Reasons We've Already Lost The Impending War Against The Robots

Don't trust your toaster...

Don€™t worry about global warming or a zombie uprising - it's the robots who are going to be responsible for humanity's end. Robots are all around us and as Kyle Reese points out in the Terminator, they are a terrifying enemy: €œIt can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.€ While it may sound like science-fiction, it€™s actually a terrifying possibility. Even Stephen Hawking thinks it€™s inevitable. If computers become self-aware, they will logically calculate that humans are the problem, and Earth would be better off without us. After that, they€™ll start the process of mass extinction, easily slaughtering billions of vulnerable, flesh-and-bone people, and the sad part is that we will not be able to do anything about it. We€™ll either be wiped out completely or enslaved before we even realise what is happening. The invasion has already begun and we seem to have embraced it instead of fighting it. As you sit and read this list on some form of a computer, that very piece of technology could be the thing that kills you. The robots are already here and they could just be biding their time until they rise up and take over the world. So with that in mind, here are 10 reasons we€™ve already lost to the machines.
