War is, quite literally, a technological arms race. It's a sad truth that so much of our technological advancement, whether in the military or in everyday life, comes from our research into how to better and more efficiently kill our enemies, and how to keep our own troops alive and well. As technology advances, so too does our military. The face of modern warfare is set to change completely over the coming years as we move into an age of digital, as well as mechanised, warfare. We're already seeing drones, robots and laser weapons out in the field, and it's only set to get more futuristic. Smart bullets, artificial intelligence, cybernetic upgrades and much more are already in the works, and who knows just what effect these will have on the conflicts of the future.
