Mobile Connectivity Without The Contract

Minutes, SMS, and Data bundles available from GiffGaff

With the rise in popularity of smart phones in the past decade, along with an ever increasing list of streaming services, mobile games, and social media platforms, the choice customers make in regards to their mobile contracts have never been a more important. The world has become connected in such a way that people rely on their mobile devices to keep them continually contactable in a global community that expects instant connectivity. This means great consideration is given not only when looking at what phones offer the features most important to you, but also deciding what actual mobile contact is most suitable for how you consume media and interact. There has been a general trend since the smart phone revolution for contracts with bigger offerings of inclusive minutes, texts and data. What this results in a lot of the time is people signing up for long and sometimes eye wateringly expensive contracts. 24 month agreements, with repayments well in excess of £30 are often the norm. While a lot do offer good value if customers do maximise their permitted usage, they invariably include heavy penalties for encroachments over those allowances and even more so for cancelling the contract early. Customers can feel tied in and restricted by the commitment they have entered in to, especially if their situation changes; a drop in income, a reduction in their use resulting in a needlessly inflated contract, or wanting to upgrade early to that fancy new phone with the added megapixels or processor speed. GiffGaff place themselves in the market as an alternative to these types of contracts. Offering flexible and competitively priced packages, giving customers the chance to pay for monthly 'bundles' which can be changed cancelled or renewed on a monthly basis, with no tie in and with the aim of keeping the customer in control, and providing the opportunity switch whenever they want. According to their research the majority of 16-24 year olds would avoid a conventional mobile contract of they had a chance. They also provide offers on new phones which run separate to the bundles, with users being able to decide on paying in full or through monthly instalments with a choice of initial downpayment. To highlight the advantages of their bundles, GiffGaff have recently launched the second phase of their successful 'Hey You' campaign, which includes a number of animated short films which look to illustrate the freedom and liberation which can be felt from a 'no contracts, no ties' approach. The first of these of animated shorts can be watched above, with the full series available over at their YouTube channel. Launched in November 2009 GiffGaff instantly received recognition for their heavily customer centric approach, and innovative marketing and PR operations. This saw the company awarded with a Forrester Groundswell award, and the Most Innovative Community Award presented at the Social CRM Customer Executive Awards within their first year full year business. Their approach to the mobile market has continued to be acknowledged since then as well, being named as the 'Best Mobile Virtual Network Operator' at the Mobile Industry Awards in 2012, and the 'Which? Best Telecom Services Provider' in 2014. For the full range of mobiles and bundle offers available head over to the GiffGaff website.
