UPDATE: 20GB iCloud Storage Plan NOT Extended 38 Years

Apple has sent the following email to MobileMe subscribers detailing the 20GB upgrade:
€œWhen you moved your MobileMe account to iCloud, we provided you with a complimentary storage upgrade beyond the standard 5GB that comes with an iCloud account to help you with the transition. Originally, this storage upgrade was set to expire on September 30, 2012. As a thank you to our former MobileMe members, we will continue to provide you with this complimentary storage upgrade at no charge, for an additional year, until September 30, 2013. No action is required on your part. For complete details, please read this article. Thank you again for using iCloud, iCloud Team€
Thirty eight years of upgraded storage did sound too good to be true. Oh well, we do get an extra year. Added to the previous year that makes for $80 in savings, enough to see a movie with my wife AND get popcorn and a drink. This email doesn€™t answer the question about whether this was a glitch. If it was I can imagine that someone has a sore backside, or is in the unemployment line, considering all the negative press swirling around these days. But that€™s neither here nor there. If, like me, you were a MobileMe subscriber, enjoy your 20GB additional iCloud storage until next year.
