You really don't need to see these attractions before you die.

We spend a lot of time and money going on holiday, so it's totally understandable that when people are planning these things, they want to see the greatest hits. But unfortunately, a lot of times the experience they've been looking forward to for so last vastly outperforms the reality of the situation, and vacation-goers are left feeling disappointed and short-changed. There's actually an entire phenomenon called the Paris Syndrome that exists in Japan, and it's truly bizarre. It occurs when people who have romanticized Paris for so long actually go there and experience the city, which could never live up to these kinds of unrealistic expectations. So that's what we're here for. We don't want you to become just another statistic. When planning your next vacation to one of the world's most iconic destinations, consider that it might not be the pure, pristine experience that you've dreamed of. That way lies madness. Because even amongst the most high-profile tourist destinations, there are some serious letdowns. Here are some of the most overrated destinations, and some other options that might be a much better trip.
