Universal Studios Hollywood is one of the world's oldest theme parks, first opening its tram tour way back in 1915.... but don't for a second think this makes it old-fashioned.

In the past 5 years around 75% of the park has been reimagined. New themed areas have been constructed, where guests can be transported into the worlds of Minions, a town called Springfield and a famous boy wizard.

With new things to try, plus other classic attractions, which should you ride first? WhatCulture has the answer!

This article ranks the attractions of Universal's Hollywood park, with the exception of Shrek 4D due to it not being available on our recent trip to California.

We go from worst to best...

8. Transformers: The Ride 3D

Transformers: The Ride is a 3D dark ride that takes guests on a high speed chase with the Autobot Evac. Working with the Autobots to prevent the AllSpark from falling into the hands of the Decepticons, this attraction is action packed.

The ride vehicle which you board is designed to resemble a car, so you feel like you are going on a ride with the Autobots.

Even though it is a very well executed ride, if you aren't familiar with the characters or the franchise, it doesn't make much of an impact on you.

There is storyline present as you go but at times this can be hard to keep up, especially due to how quickly your ride vehicle appears to move.

The best thing about this ride is the 3D - the quality is excellent, at times you really do feel that objects are flying towards you. Riders genuinely do want to duck out of the way. The other special effects, such as fog, wind and water work brilliantly to keep you engrossed in the action.

Of all the rides we rode, this was the one that induced the most motion sickness, possibly due to the feeling of spinning round that you get. It is also a long ride, lasting 4.5mins, a rather lengthy time to be flung about.

The superiority of the 3D makes it worth riding, even if it is only once. Unless you are a fan of he franchise, once might be enough.
