1. Jack Bauer Less than a day after it was announced that the second series of Kiefer Sutherland€™s €˜Touch€™ was to be the last because FOX had axed the show, former 24 executive producer David Fury spoke on twitter about his next project. Today it has been confirmed that Jack Bauer will return for 24: Live Another Day, a ninth series of the show that will air next summer. It has been three years this month since season eight aired its final episode. So with the promise of a new look, shorter series nine on the horizon, here are the ten best moments from the previous eight seasons. If you haven€™t seen the show then don€™t read on. 10. Ryan Chappelle

Ryan Chappelle He may have been a nuisance for everyone who worked around him but when called upon to give his life to protect his country, Ryan Chappelle never wavered. With the nation being held to ransom on the threat of numerous biological attacks, the President Palmer€™s hand was forced and the demand of Chappelle€™s death had to be granted. For the entire episode it seemed as if the villain, Stephen Saunders, would be caught but somehow he managed to evade capture. Ryan€™s time was up. Knelt in the train yard Ryan asked Jack for the dignity of taking his own life but was unable to pull the trigger. The responsibility was left to Jack who executed his boss and caused the most memorable silent clock in the show€™s history.
