10 Best Recurring Sketches On The Kids In The Hall

The Kids in the Hall are making their return on Amazon Prime and bringing their best sketches back.

The Kids in the Hall

Over five seasons from 1988 to 1995, the Canadian sketch comedy show The Kids in the Hall offered up some of the most interesting and gutsy performances on TV. They took chances on sketches and characters that most other shows wouldn't, particularly related to gender and sexual identity. All five seasons aired on CBC, with the first three also airing on HBO and the last two on CBS

All of that being said, the Lorne Michaels produced series did take a slightly different tone on CBS, something the Kids pointed out quite sarcastically in one of their sketches.

Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Scott Thompson, Mark McKinney and Bruce McCulloch made up the the team group members, with Paul Bellini filling out the roster and a towel from time to time. While they have all made their marks on the entertainment industry in different ways, all five men are best known as The Kids in the Hall.

When it was announced that they would be making new episodes for Amazon Prime, fans started thinking about all the classic characters and sketches they couldn't wait to see again.

10. Maudre And Jocelyn

One of the ongoing realities of The Kids in the Hall was how amazing they looked dressed as women, particularly Dave Foley. That fact also came up on Foley's follow up to Kids in the Hall, NewRadio.

Scott Thompson and Foley respectively played Maudre and Jocelyn, two prostitutes that appeared in recurring sketches. Maudre was the classic hooker with a golden heart and Jocelyn a French Canadian woman with a lovely accent. They talk about life, love and the day to day minutia of their line of work.

Maudre and Jocelyn are caring, thoughtful women who have brilliantly funny conversations. Their vibe is incredible and only enhanced by their pimp Rudy, played by Kevin McDonald. He is weasly and weak, and almost has a little brother/big sister relationship with Maudre and Jocelyn. The three characters play well off each other.
