10 Brilliant TV Actors Who Have Failed At Becoming Movie Stars

9. Walton Goggins

During the course of his career, Walton Goggins has appeared in movies as diverse as Shanghai Noon, The Bourne Identity, Cowboys & Aliens, Lincoln and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but never seems to be given anything more than a handful of scenes at best. Of course, fans of The Shield, Justified and Sons Of Anarchy are well aware of both his versatility and capability as an actor.

While his role as Shane Vendrell in The Shield brought him recognition and his recurring role as Venus Van Dam in Sons Of Anarchy took many by surprise, it is the role of Boyd Crowder on Justified that demonstrated the range of his talents. Quite simply one of the best television characters of the 21st Century, Boyd is articulate, charming, charismatic intense, deadly and quite often hilarious in equal measure.

The 43 year-old is poised for bigger and better things on the big screen after being largely reduced to bit-parts in prestige pictures and studio blockbusters over the last few years. A current favourite of best buddies Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, Goggins appeared in Predators, Machete Kills and Django Unchained, but takes on his biggest movie role to date as the character of Chris Mannix in Tarantino's upcoming Hateful Eight, a part that will no doubt open up a lot more doors in Hollywood.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
