10 Cancelled TV Shows That Totally Deserve A Ripper Street Resurrection

10. Survivors

Survivors was an adaptation of the Terry Nation novel of the same name. It sees a ragtag group who have survived a new strain of flu that has wiped out most of the world€™s population. With hardly any other humans left to interact with the survivors spend their time dealing with a range of dangerous problems. It€™s gritty and constantly brings home the scale of the disaster. A house filled with corpses in the first episode brings home just how many people have died. The characters are very easy to emphasise with thanks to superb acting and the fact that their desperation comes across very well throughout. You can understand why they do actions that you would normally never consider. It also gives a somewhat positive outlook of how we could manage to cope without technology rather than scolding us for our reliance on it. It was cancelled in 2010 with viewing figures only reaching around 5 million per episode, meaning the BBC didn€™t consider it a success. But with it still being relatively recent there is plenty of hoping of getting the cast back together. Plus fans will still be very much aware of the series.
