10 Classic TV Shows That Sold Out With Awful Gimmick Episodes

8. Happy Days

Happy DaysEpisode: "Hollywood (Part Three)" This episode of the 70's sitcom bestowed upon the world a great iconic description of the point where a series passes into irrelevance and decline, with Fonzie literally jumping over a shark with his waterskis. In the third part of this three-part debacle (kind of a gimmick in itself), The Fonz has been spirited away to Hollywood with the rest of the gang by overzealous talent scouts who are sure they have found the newest teenage idol. But the Fonz has bigger things to worry about, like "The California Kid", who challenges him to leap over a tiger shark on waterskis. Sure, that happens all the time.
