10 Doctor Who Stories That Would Make Great Musicals

Time and relative dimension in song!

The West End theatre scene is flooded with musicals. The sprouting of singing extravaganzas out of every conceivable source, from the back catalogue of a pop combo to the life of a witch, is a phenomenon worthy of investigation by the good Doctor himself. The world's longest running science-fiction programme has certainly capitalised on its success via the live circuit. As early as the 1960s there was the Curse of the Daleks play, followed by The Seven Keys to Doomsday. But these were strictly dialogue-heavy affairs. What stories could be ripe for transfer to this notoriously harsh environment? And more importantly, who could play the role of the Doctor? This article speculates on the potential candidates for this singular and perhaps dubious honour. The lights have dimmed. The curtains are rising. The show is about to begin...
