10 Epic TV Shows That Never Made It To Our Screens

9. Zombieland

Eventual cult hit, Zombieland, added another hilarious take to the ever growing comedy/horror genre in 2009.

So, when it was announced that Fox and Sony were considering making a television adaptation of the film in 2011, fans were right to be excited.

The original writers (Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese) were onboard, yet the cast from the film would not be making a return. Unfortunately, plans to have the show appear on CBS by fall 2012 were soon scrapped and it looked as though the series could be in free-fall.

Then - in March 2013 - Amazon Studios came to the rescue and ordered a pilot for the potential zombie-killing TV-remake. That pilot was actually released on Lovefilm and Amazon Video, but it was clear that it hadn't made enough of a buzz in order to be picked up as a full series and Reese revealed in May of that year that there would be no follow up to the pilot.

Zombieland: Double Tap was released in theatres on October 18th 2019 and received a decent response, with the original cast returning.

Even though the TV series would have been hilarious, it's pretty clear to see that the original cast were the major selling point for this un-dead concept and without them there wasn't enough left to keep us watching.
