Game of Thrones may have castles and dragons and an army of the dead, but its success still hinges on the same thing that defines every other show; the relationships of its characters. (The dragons and White Walkers are pretty darn cool though.)
For a show that has made its name by ripping our hearts out year on year, season seven laid the sentiment on pretty thick with a flux of reunions. Although not all of them were hugs and kisses, families were reformed and some of our favourite pairings brought back together. It was all so pleasant that the show drew accusations of fan-baiting simply for the sake of cheap reactions.
Throughout the season we saw lots of reunions: Bronn and Tyrion, Tyrion and Jaime, Jaime and Brienne, Brienne and Arya, Arya and Sansa, Sansa and Bran, Bran and Arya - the list runs so deep that Friends Reunited should consider approaching showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to act as consultants.
However, as was the general theme throughout the season, conclusion was balanced with intrigue and there were some highly-anticipated reunions that were held back for the final series. These characters will meet again before our watch has ended...
