10 Greatest Ever TV Alternate Universes

3. Married...with Children - "It's A Bundyful Life"

Zz413

Once upon a time, Al Bundy met an angel who wanted to show him what life would be like if he had never been born. Pretty much your standard It's a Wonderful Life ripoff. Until you see his family, and realize that they are so much better off without Al it's not even funny. Peggy is married to a rich man, and is a wonderful wife and mother. Kelly is a well-adjusted college student, who speaks fluent French and seems slightly less likely than usual to shag anything with a pulse. And Bud...well, Bud is a respectful young man who has a way with the ladies (but for real now, not just in his head). Basically, all of their lives are about a million and a half times better than they would have been with Al in the picture. A normal guy might be pretty depressed by this. He might choose to end it all, to give his family the chance at a better life. But come on. This is Al Bundy we're talking about. He wants his family to be just as miserable as he is, so he spitefully decides to go back to his own life. "Look at them. They're happy. Not a care in the world. You think I'm gonna let that happen, after all the grief they put me through? I WANT TO LIVE!" Not exactly the way Jimmy Stewart would have done it, but it's definitely one of the funniest alternate universes we've seen.
