10 Grossly Underrated TV Heroines Who Deserve More Praise

8. Claire Littleton (Lost)

heroine-clairelittleton While most of the female characters on Lost managed to garner some moments in the 'kicking butt and taking names' categories before their departures or the end of the show, it took until the final season for Australian baby mama Claire to become a mad, badass warrior, during which she had largely been forgotten and maligned by the Lost fans. Claire was a sweet, kind and insecure character who landed on the Island as an eight-month-pregnant girl. She later gave birth to her child, became a mother and soon mysteriously vanished after losing her one true love and leaving her child behind - as well as any interest in her character. Claire was an under-utilised character by the producers and in the final season, she was transformed into a near-insane mama bear gone wrong who was only redeemed in the finale by the power of love and redemption. It's a shame that Emilie de Ravin's solid and warm performance was swept largely to one side in favour of other characters and a stronger arc for the character was never realised.
