10 Most Fan Pleasing Moments In The Day Of The Doctor

Let's fangasm all over again.

Doctor Who's honourable history is full of groundbreaking and momentous moments but its 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, is as iconic as they come. Well, until the next landmark, at least! Producers went all out to ensure that the Time Lord's momentous milestone was marked with an almighty bang and the far reaching festivities culminated in a feature-length escapade that was screened simultaneously on TV and in 3D cinemas all around the world. Fevered fans joined forces to "save the day" as the weird and wonderful worlds of the Whoniverse collided for a multi-Doctor adventure to end them all. Helmed by the then incumbent Time Lord Matt Smith, his popular predecessor David Tennant came along for the party and the titillating TARDIS trio was topped off by none other than Sir John Hurt who had been spectacularly revealed as a secret incarnation at the end of the last episode. But that was just the tip of the timey-wimey iceberg. The special was busting at the brim with fan pleasing moments, including blasts from the past and references to friends and foes both old and new, and here you will find just 10 of them. God bless Steven Moffat.
