9. Billie Kent
Nuckys bit on the side in New York, Billie (Meg Steedle) was always going to struggle to survive the third season of HBOs crime drama. As with the majority of newbies that get involved with Nucky, the odds were not good for the adorable Billie. It was either going to be Nuckys volatile jealousy or his growing friction with people in New York that would obviously be her downfall and it was not surprising that it came at the hands of the latter in a literally explosive way. As Nucky usually retreated from the limelight to her in New York, it is perhaps ironic that Billies downfall happens in Nuckys territory of Atlantic City. Her last scene with Nucky is on the boardwalk who witnesses her untimely demise from afar as he walks to meet Rothstein and Lucky Luciano (Vincent Piazza). It is an image that haunts Nucky (in his rattled state following the blast), her last final moments and the eye contact they share before she becomes a victim of the Babettes bombing. Her death has a profound effect on Nucky and his desire to eliminate Gyp Rosetti (Bobby Cannavale) at any cost.
