10 Most Surprising Rick And Morty Celebrity Cameos

9. John Oliver

Dr Xenon Bloom is as bonkers as his name suggests, an amoeba who runs Anatomy Park - a theme park built inside a homeless man Rick has hired. John Oliver plays essentially the same pompous well spoken English stereotype he plays in Community and his exaggerated self in Last Week Tonight, but it works for Bloom.

While it is by no means the first time Oliver has lent his voice to animation, with previous credits including The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers and more recently as Zazu in The Lion King, this may be the most fun he's ever had with the medium.

As the first major celebrity cameo before Rick and Morty became the cultural touchstone it now is, the late night host took a gamble on what could have been a complete disaster. Obviously Oliver had worked on Dan Harmon's previous show Community and knew he was most likely in safe hands, but even so, without such a big name early on it's possible Rick and Morty wouldn't have gotten as many cameos as it has today.
