10 Plot Twists That Totally Ruined Awesome TV Shows

6. Sex And The City - Carrie Reunites With Big At The Last Minute (Season 6)

I appreciate that Sex and the City might not be on many people's "awesome TV show" lists, but the show was undeniably popular and connected with a lot of people. The back and forth over the course of the show's history was protagonist Carrie Bradshaw's relationship with a suave businessman known only as Mr. Big, who fleeted in and out of her life in between her various other relationships. The final season sees Carrie meet Aleksandr Petrovsky, a Russian artist and a man who appears to be everything that Big is not, yet just like Big, he too cannot pay attention to her when all-consuming work gets in the way. During a trip in Paris, Carrie breaks it off with Aleksandr, at which point, Big oh-so-conveniently arrives in Paris and finally commits to Carrie for good. A final montage also reveals that Big's real name is John. The problem I had with this twist is that a) it was extremely predictable, even though we were meant to be surprised by it and b) I never really felt like Carrie belonged with Big. The two of them seem so different, and frankly, Big seems like a bit of a douche, so why would I be happy that they got their happily ever after (which was then dragged out again over two feature films)? Not that I really wanted Carrie to get with Aleksandr either, mind.
