10 Plot Twists That Totally Ruined Awesome TV Shows

4. 24 - Tony Isn't Dead (Season 7)

In 24's fifth season, beloved Soul Patch himself, Tony Almeida, was stabbed through the heart with a needle by series baddie Christopher Henderson and dies soon thereafter. However, Season 7 takes a drastic measure even for the standards of the show, by announcing that Tony was alive and well, and had aligned himself with a terrorist group. Henderson intentionally missed stabbing Tony in the heart and somehow managed to turn him, despite us seeing Jack cradling Tony's body in said season 5 episode. Henderson's people took Tony's body and revived him from death, turning him, but it's revealed later that Tony is in fact a double agent, and has been working with Bill Buchanan and Chloe O'Brian the whole time to uncover corrupt American officials. Hilariously, once Jack and Tony then destroy some chemical weapons, it's revealed that Tony was in fact working with the terrorists, although we find out later it was only in order to kill the man who caused his wife Michelle Dessler (and their unborn son) to be killed in season 5. Though season 6 is the creative low point of the show, season 7 indulged one too many twists for its own good, and as much as I love Tony, I wish he had stayed dead rather than be tampered with in such a careless fashion. He will, apparently, be returning for Live Another Day, though.
