10 Predictions For The Future Of Humanity (According To Doctor Who)

Can't wait for the Moon to hatch.

In the distant past, humanity looked to the likes of soothsayers like Nostradamus to provide predictions on what lay ahead for our species. Those lot didn't tend to be all that accurate (depending on how much leeway you€™re willing to give them re: a €œbig city burning€ referring to 9/11), so eventually the general populace moved onto a slightly more reliable source of predictions: speculative fiction. Science fiction tended to be written by authors with some sort of background in science or technology, with everyone from HG Wells to Isaac Asimov presumably having more of an insight into our future than most. Who has time to read these days, though? The most popular form of speculative fiction outside of books, undoubtedly, has to be Doctor Who. He€™s always ping ponging about the cosmos, through time and relative dimensions in space. Usually time, though. What have we learned about what€™s in store for the human race from the Gallifreyan, then? And how does that dovetail with where actual experts reckon we€™re going to end up? Here are ten predictions for the future of humanity, according to Doctor Who.
