10 Songs Forever Ruined By TV Shows

2. Arrested Development

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Nvxv2R01po Victim: Europe's The Final Countdown Though the opening chords of the 1980€™s musical hit was nearly impossible to take seriously before it was used on Fox€™s comedy Arrested Development, Europe's The Final Countdown is now solidified as an anthem for utter foolishness and family drama. Gob Bluth (pronounced Joeb) is the failed brother of Michael Bluth, the man trying to keep together a selfish wealthy family now under investigation for their part in accidental war profiteering. While Michael intensely works to keep his closest relatives from destroying the family business or spending the final bits of money left in their bank accounts, Gob spends his days riding a Segway into accidentally hitting on underage girls and performing his magic acts. His "allusions," as Gob refers to them, are always signalled by the dramatic opening measures of Europe€™s The Final Countdown and a series of dramatic poses, hand gestures, and the occasional white dove. He can be found poorly performing magic tricks during Spring Break, pretending to rise from the tomb as a highly offensive interpretation of Jesus, and generally misunderstanding every single thing said to him. His list of offences are many, but none so grievous as finally sawing The Final Countdown in half for good.
