10 Things You Didn't Know About Maisie Williams

She's not even called Maisie.

When Maisie Williams first auditioned for Game of Thrones, she couldn't have imagined how dramatically her life was about to change. She's been transformed from just another child actress to a worldwide phenomenon in just a few years, and she's showing no signs of slowing down. The 18-year-old plays the badass Arya Stark in Thrones, a character loved by all in the books, and brought to life by Williams. The young actress is a cult-hero on-screen, and is rapidly developing into one away from the set too for her fun antics once the cameras have stopped rolling. Williams recently landed a role in Doctor Who which could develop into a more established role, though her focus will be on Thrones right up until the sad day when it all comes to an end. But while you may feel you know everything about the coolest young lady on TV right now, prepare to think again...

10. She's Not Actually Called Maisie

Gotcha already, am I right? Yes, every time you call her Maisie Williams, you're just saying her nickname. She was born as Margaret Constance Williams, and raised near Bristol, UK in the south west of the country. There's no sinister reason for the change, just a simple shortening (and modernising) of a traditional name. She's not the first cast member to do so, nor will she be the last. We're looking at you... Christopher Harington.
