10 Things You Didnt Know About The Walking Dead Cast

8. Melissa McBride Was Working As A Casting Director When She Was Cast As Carol

Melissa McBride had worked briefly for Frank Darabount on his adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist in 2007, and has acted off and on since the early 90s, but when the call came that she was cast as Carol, she'd been working as a casting director herself, mainly for commercials. The offer of the role of Carol was unexpected, and McBride had been shoring up her acting work with the casting director role since 2000. Talk about a big break. In addition to commercials, McBride also served as casting director for a number of shorts, and the feature length film The Last Adam, starring American Sniper's Leonard Roberts and track legend Carl Lewis.
