10 Things You Need To Know About Trevor Noah

Is he the right man to replace Jon Stewart on The Daily Show?

Ever since Jon Stewart dropped the bombshell that he'd be leaving The Daily Show €“ Comedy Central's satirical new series which made the presenter's name, and vice versa €“ the rumour mill has been working overtime. For a while, the favourite to replace Stewart was Jessica Williams, a frequent Daily Show contributor whose incisive and hilarious pieces often went viral. It even seemed like she was destined for the position, but in the end Williams said she wasn't interested in hosting the show. That made it anyone's game, with previous correspondents to new blood all suggested as the potential new host for The Daily Show. Finally, though, Comedy Central made their choice: South African stand up Trevor Noah, who has also been making appearances on the show as a correspondent recently. €œMy number one fear is that I will waste people€™s time,€ Noah has said. €œI never want to waste people€™s time whether it€™s in a conversation or at my show. I just know I don€™t want to waste people€™s time. We€™ve all done things where we just go: that was as waste of my time. I want people to go wow I€™m really glad I spent time with that guy.€ You'll definitely be glad when you spend every weekday with the new Daily Show star. But if you need more convincing he's the right man for the job €“ that he has both the comedic and satirical chops, that he's smart and commanding enough €“ here are ten things you need to know about Trevor Noah.
