Sam Esmail's masterpiece of a series Mr. Robot is one of those shows where, much like the series itself, the atmosphere around it is equally as multifascited.

Despite its critical acclaim, Mr. Robot seems to only have but a small, yet dedicated, fanbase. Those who love the show love it because of its uniqueness in the world of television. It feels cinematic, telling a story about modern society through the lens of an unreliable narrator you can't help but root for, even when they may step out of line.

It lasted four season in total, going from 2015 until 2019. This slightly short run was not due to some unforeseen cancellation. Rather, unlike many series, those four seasons were all that were needed to complete the story. Everything about it was planned meticulously, and much of the stuff that went on behind-the-scenes contributed to its overall shape, whether it be intentionally or not.

So, let's take a look at some of those backstage details that went into making the series what it became with ten things you probably didn't know about Mr. Robot.

10. The Hoodie

We'll start this off with a small, but still interesting little bit of trivia.

If there is one thing in Mr. Robot as iconic as its palpable sense of 90s era angst, it's the black hoodie protagonist Elliot Alderson wears seemingly every second of every day. It's a trademark of the series, one that both perfectly captures Elliot personality and, at the same time, adds to it.

Now, you may be asking what could be so interesting about a simple piece of clothing. Well, the answer may surprise you. The hoodie actually belongs to actor Rami Malek who plays Elliot, and who wore the same hoodie since the beginning of the series, refusing to replace it.

According to a people within the show's costume department, he wore the hoodie so much that it even started falling apart, making it to where they had to have several replacements on standby.

The actor felt as though wearing the same thing every episode matched with how Elliot would actually act, as he could not imagine the character ever going clothes shopping.

Now that's dedication to the bit.
