10 TV Plot Threads That Were Never Resolved

9. Who Was Earl Jr.'s Father? - My Name Is Earl

My Name Is Earl Earl Jr
NBC

My Name Is Earl was a sort-of popular show about a sort-of nice guy who, after having an epiphany of sorts, decides to right all the wrongs in his otherwise bizarre life, one which is filled with a large bunch of otherwise intolerable characters who only exist to make his life relatively hellish. Jason Lee played Earl all the way up to the show's fourth season, when it was suddenly cancelled, leaving one particularly intriguing plot thread in the air: who, exactly, was Earl Jr.'s father? It had been a non-mystery the entire time, then suddenly Darnell was thrown out the running in a twisty-turny season finale.

Presumably destined to remain unresolved for the rest of eternity, I'm not really even sure anybody is that bothered to find out who this character's real father is, given that nobody has even talked about My Name Is Earl in about four years (although nobody really talked about it when it was on either).
