9. Veronica Donovan - Prison Break
Veronica Donovan played a huge part in the first season of Prison Break. Whilst brothers Michael and Lincoln worked on their escape from the inside of Fox River Penitentiary, Veronica, along with lawyer Nick Savrinn, worked on clearing their names on the outside.
They had the monumental task of trying to clear Lincoln Burrows of his conviction for assassinating the Vice President’s brother, Terrence Steadman. They spent their time reviewing evidence, chasing down witnesses, and doing everything they could to uncover the truth. While this was happening, they were being chased down by an evil, illuminati-esque organisation known only as The Company.
Veronica had also had a romantic relationship with both Lincoln and Michael at different points in time, with this having the potential to create tension between the two. Unfortunately, this was never to be.
Whilst Veronica was lucky enough to survive her first season, she was unceremoniously gunned down by a Company agent during Season 2’s pilot, after discovering Steadman was still alive.
This reveal and the subsequent death certainly pushed the story forward, but it’s hard not to feel that there was more to offer from Veronica’s story.
