4. Sex and the City
At the time of its broadcast, Sex and the City was one of the most groundbreaking shows of all time. It broke new ground for sex and women on TV, with sex featuring more explicitly from now on and shows entirely focussed on women were possible. Sex and the City has developed a reputation for being about shoes and vanity and whilst that is 100% true about the two repugnant movies, the show holds considerably more merit. It is most definitely not a work of feminism like some say it is, but it is entertaining at its best and the writing is brave and clever and signified the dawn of a new age for TV.
