10 TV Shows Which Completely Changed Their Premise

Angel, sister show to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, began life as a supernatural detective show with a monster of the week format and healthy doses of noir. It was sort of a more grown-up version of Buffy, while Buffy herself was still attending college in the small town of Sunnydale.

The show is now remembered as a heavily serialised dark fantasy. The season one finale introduces the season-long arcs which would be the future of the series, and by season five, Angel and his team took over former enemy Wolfram & Hart and the original procedural elements of the show were forgotten as it built to an emotionally wrenching conclusion.

Grace Murray hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
