10 TV Shows You Should Be Watching Right Now

2. Inside No. 9

Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton are two of the four minds behind The League of Gentlemen, one of Britain's finest comedy offerings, and the highest compliment that can be paid to their Inside No. 9 is that it proudly stands alongside the Royston Vasey series.

The show, which tells a different story every episode, jumps around with genre, tone, setting, and cast, including an entirely silent episode, a Shakespearean farce told in iambic pentameter, and a heartfelt drama that'll leave you in tears.

Being an anthology you can jump in at any point, with each episode a nourishing nugget of dark comedy and even darker drama, rewarding eagle eyes and rewatches, and contains more layers than an ogre. Series 4, which recently ended its run, took the show to improbable new heights, and it deserves an audience in the U.S.

League celebrated 20 years recently and, if there's any justice, Inside No. 9 will be similarly celebrated two decades from now.
