10 Worst Simpsons Guest Stars (Who Played Themselves)
9. Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart may be the ninth worst guest star in The Simpsons’ history, but she’s only the second worst star in her episode, which should give you some indication of how bad Season 22’s The Fight Before Christmas is. Told in three distinct vignettes a la Treehouse Of Horror, the episode features one segment led by Martha Stewart helping Marge plan creative and cost effective Christmas decorations.
Post financial fraud, Stewart has taken to various TV and movie cameos as herself, trying to scrub her once good name clean again. On the back of this performance though, it’s unclear why she keeps getting booked.
If you have some prior love for Martha Stewart, then there’s definitely potential here. The problem is that very little of what she says is even supposed to be funny. It’s not bad delivery, necessarily, but that she’s largely just going about her usual routine as if it was her own show.
Some things are taken to extremes and while there is some comedy in that, it’s largely all brushed over for more Martha. Bit of an odd episode all around here, with another celebrity still to appear.
