Based loosely on Feys experiences as head writer for Saturday Night Live, the shows name refers to the NBC Studios address in Rockerfeller Plaza, New York. Fey stars as Liz Lemon, the creator of fictional comedy-sketch show The Girlie Show. She and her large supporting cast adopt a surreal style of humour to parody NBC and its corporate structure, with an underlying complexity that was too often lost in the hectic pace or overlooked for the more slapstick gags.
