11 Awesome Netflix TV Shows (That Aren't Available In The UK)

4. 30 Rock

Tina Fey€™s satire sit-com 30 Rock ran on NBC from 2006 to 2013, clocking up 138 episodes, none of which are available to watch on Netflix in the UK. Based loosely on Fey€™s experiences as head writer for Saturday Night Live, the show€™s name refers to the NBC Studios€™ address in Rockerfeller Plaza, New York. Fey stars as Liz Lemon, the creator of fictional comedy-sketch show The Girlie Show. She and her large supporting cast adopt a surreal style of humour to parody NBC and its corporate structure, with an underlying complexity that was too often lost in the hectic pace or overlooked for the more slapstick gags. The brilliance of the show lay not just in the writing and timely execution, but also in Fey€™s near autobiographical connection to her character, though it was not originally her intention to base the show around a TV writer. Her first pitch for the show followed a cable news team that she was to head, but NBC implored her to stick with what she knew best, and how right they were.

Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
