6. Bernadette's Voice Is Based On Her Mother's

Actor Melissa Rauch does a mean impression of Howard's mother. But for her role on the show, she impersonates another mother - her own. Rauch borrowed her ma's high pitched voice for her character Bernadette, something she is said to have spent hours a day perfecting. She has since claimed that the only thing that's missing from Bernadette's voice is a thick New Jersey accent. Whilst Bernadette frequently engages in screamed conversations with Mother Wolowitz, this in itself is not something that is entirely alien to Rauch. In an interview with the New York Post, she revealed that she herself comes "from a house of screamers, very similar to the Wolowitz family.
