12 New TV Characters We Can't Wait To Meet In 2017
11. Lockjaw - Inhumans
While a lot of the TV side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe concerns the Netflix branch, ABC are making a big splash of their own this year with an Inhumans TV show.
A film has been in the works for years - previously slated for release in 2018, then 2019, then quietly scrapped - and now TV is getting there first, bringing the Inhuman Royal Family to life.
That means great, powerful characters like Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Medusa (Serinda Swan), and Maximus (Iwan Rheon). More interesting, though, will be the presence of Lockjaw.
The loyal companion of Crystal (Isabelle Cornish) he's a 2000lbs space dog, capable of teleporting himself and others anywhere he wants (even through dimensions), tracing scents across dimensions too, and has a super strong jaw.
He's being brought to life using CGI, which admittedly could be ropey on a TV budget - but then, given the series is shooting its first episodes with IMAX cameras, they're clearly splashing a bit of cash on this one. And the pre-CGI version has the size right if nothing else. Who doesn't want to see a massive teleporting dog come to life on TV?
They're good dogs, Brent. Even giant space ones.
