13 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching The Office

13. The Water Is Dyed Green On St Patrick's Day - And Michael Has The Wrong Flag

The Office's sixth season saw a big celebration of St Patrick's Day, which, we're told, is one of the most popular holidays in Scranton. There's an entire episode built around the event, with characters all wearing green, and that gave the production team the chance to sneak in a couple of great visual gags.

Behind Stanely, we can see that the water in the office's cooler has been dyed green as a means of marking the occasion, showing just how all-out the office has really gone. Even better, though, is Michael's attempts to get involved. Not only does he wear a green tie, but he also has an Irish flag on his desk. Or at least, what he thinks is an Irish flag but, in true Michael fashion, is actually an Italian flag. They do look kind of similar in fairness.

Also in this episode is the great gag of Dwight is growing beets on his desk. It may not be related to St Patrick's Day, but it's superb nonetheless.
