15 Sci-fi TV Shows That Ended Too Soon

14. Alien Nation

The Beginning:

While not the dud some thought it to be, 1988’s Alien Nation was a movie that was perhaps best suited in a different guise. Like, say, a television series maybe? It’s a good thing, then, that Fox spotted potential in the film’s central buddy relationship and made that the focus of the show.

Based on the movie’s concept of alien’s living among us, the series focused on rolled up sleeves police work and the day to day trials of LAPD Detective Matthew Sikes (human) and his other worldly partner, Sam Francisco (yes, that was his name).

Don't let that put you off - the show was brimming with promise.

The End:

The show aired in 1989 but was cancelled after one season. This wasn’t down to poor reviews or viewing figures, mind, but was a result of the then fledgling Fox Network running out of dollar, meaning their 1990 roster of shows were all scrapped.

Despite being cut down in its infancy, the show lived on by way of some TV movies and a full season in comic book form.
